What is today? Collage

A school is a lot of things; the building, the community, the students, the teachers, the words that are spoken about it, and better yet the words that are spoken within it. Student’s explored the idea, “what makes up Washington Elementary?”, and pieced together some important images. Like building a giant puzzle, the students glued down thousands of pieces of paper. Each piece was carefully designed and painted by the students themselves in the style of stroybook illustrator Eric Carle. They worked for weeks to reveal the finished project, the bigger picture. So, if the answer to the question “What is today?” is, as Mr. Arnold says, “The first step in your million mile journey.” Then this is certainly a creative step in the right direction.

The School Year is almost “UP”

A few more days until summer and still so much to do!

Please Excuse My Mess!

I am currently constructing the new site. Feel free to use the available resources and view the not so numerous project postings. I hope to be up and running fully in the next month… that is if my classroom doesn’t take priority!
